“When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited”

My Journey
I was born to immigrant Taiwanese parents, Ming-jen Chen and Shu-fei Chen, on Acjachemen and Tongva land (Southern California). Raised by my grandmother, Ing-Yang Hu, until the age of 12, my first language was Taiwanese Hokkien—a connection to lineage that continues to shape my path.
My journey into healing began in my early 20s, during my time as a full-time Policy Analyst for the City of Long Beach, CA. I was managing citywide sustainability programs and volunteering with local non-profits, often working 60–80+ hours a week. The burnout was profound. I experienced extreme fatigue, chronic pain, autoimmune issues, reproductive health challenges, and deep emotional struggles, including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
When Western medicine offered little support and left me feeling more distressed, I turned—out of desperation and instinct—toward ancestral healing modalities: acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, qigong, plant medicines, and energy work. As I began to work with gifted practitioners, I slowly regained my health and found teachers who helped me root these practices into my body and life.
After a decade of healing and transformation, I made the decision to leave my policy career and devote myself fully to the healing arts. I began apprenticing with mentors and elders—both human and spirit—who continue to guide me in reclaiming ancestral wisdom and cultivating medicine for my own recovery and the healing of others.

When a thriving ecosystem generates honey, it brings medicine to communities, far and wide…
My guides consider me a gardener of the soul’s ecosystem – someone who tends to life.
The gardener holds the vision for the wholeness of the ecosystem, and provides the tools & resources to tend to it holistically.
Honey Heart Medicine represents the layers transcending the garden itself. It’s the nectar of the garden transformed by the pollinators coming to the blossoms.
When multiple gardens are blossoming, and there are thriving ecosystems over multiple seasons, only then can there be honey.
This is the direction for humanity I’m holding in my heart, this is the vision of the cosmic gardener. Beyond wholeness, is the vision of thriving ecosystems, for the soul of the universe.
A Soul's Gardener is someone who tends to life’s evolution, to the micro and macro of the ecosystem—someone who holds the vision and respect for the thriving ecosystem of the soul. Supporting people on their soul’s journey to help people anchor in their own medicine, their nectar.
It takes knowing the topography of the land. Knowing how to plant seeds and water them, developing the attunement and patience required to watch one leaf unfurl at a time, allowing the fruits and flowers to blossom over the seasons.
